The Background

Biketart is an established rider-owned and run bike store based in Canterbury. Formed in 2008, Biketart started small but has  become one of the fastest growing companies in the cycling sector, renowned for their excellent customer service, product range and tireless promotion of their local cycling scene.
 

The Brief

2011 saw the opening of their bigger Canterbury showroom and the deployment of Citrus-Lime’s EPOS and stock control systems. In line with their rapid growth, Biketart looked again to Citrus-Lime to deliver an integrated Ecommerce site that would open up multichannel retail  and increase the brand's online market presence.

Working alongside the team at Biketart, we built a solution around key project objectives:

• Establish a platform for retailing product in a stock-controlled manner
   
• Ecommerce integration with existing EPOS system & branding
   
• Provide the opportunity for establishing better business processes
   
• Opportunity for better organisation, reporting and business intelligence
   

The Solution

The new website delivers a feature rich and contemporary solution to the original project brief.  The site's design, navigation and product layout provides a sleek user experience whilst the complex Ecommerce functionality is powered by our integrated platform, Citrus-Store 2.0, Biketart’s established EPOS system, provides their full product database and ‘live’ stock levels to populate the  Ecommerce site, uniting their multiple sales channels with minimal administration.

This core Ecommerce functionality is complimented with additional modular features; the Supplier Integration Module not only streamlines the process of product import and price updates directly from their chosen suppliers but enables Biketart to display stock chain availability via their Ecommerce site, delivering exceptional customer service and securing Special Orders. Meanwhile, Deep Zoom and Multi Image Viewer enhance the interactivity of product pages, allowing customers to explore items in even greater detail, whilst our  advanced site navigation and search tools increase product visibility and exposure.
