Detailed information about Surosa Cycles Case Study

Surosa Cycles Case Study

Surosa Cycles in Oldham chose Citrus-Lime to deliver their Microsoft RMS epos system, then came back to us for an integrated ecommerce site helping them to become a true "Clicks and Mortar" Retailer.

Surosa Cycles

Surosa Cycles is an established name in the UK cycle retail sector - if you are in the bike business you may well know Nigel or Mandy. The company (formerly Oldham Cycle Centre) was established in 1983 by Ken Barlow, father of then international Bob, who took over the business in 1998. The business was around for many years before and was originally founded by Derek (Nobby) Clarke. The shop is now owned by former World Champion Mandy Jones and her husband Nigel Bishop, stocks all styles of bike from mountain bikes to specialist lightweight road bikes and equipment for road racing, time trial, track, audax, touring and triathlon.

Microsoft RMS Epos and Stock Control

Our original involvement with Surosa Cycles was to implement a Microsoft Retail Management System. This provided Surosa with a modern, scalable sytem handling point-of-sale, stock control, customer management and purchasing. The main benefits of Microsoft RMS from Citrus-Lime to cycle retailers like Surosa;

  • Works Order system, with email and SMS notification;
  • Handles assemblies so you can build custom bike quotes for your customers;
  • Microsoft Dynamics Solution - The best epos system for a growing retailer
  • We know the market, working with a number of independent Cycle retailers

Surosa select Citrus-Lime for an Integrated Ecommerce site

The business has a very good reputation not only in the UK, but also with many overseas customers through their mail-order operation, but recognised the benefits of having their ecommerce operation integrated with their epos system. Surosa Cycles chose Citrus-Lime to renovate their web presence. The site which is based on our Citrus-Store ecommerce backend has been designed to reflect Surosa's brand and forms part of a fully integrated ecommerce and epos "Clicks + Mortar" Solution.

Surosa's Cube Microsite

Recently we completed a Cube focused microsite for Surosa Cycles. After discussing with Nigel from Surosa ways in which he could highlight the Cube range online so as to increase sales we suggested a microsite. The site was designed and produced in a short time-scale and draws all of the products from the Surosa database that are in the Cube category. Customers selecting a product are then taken to the product page on the main Surosa site. The microsite allows a more focused Cube branded presence for Surosa online and is structured in a way that is 'google-friendly' so that it should help Surosa to appear more prominently in the search engines for Cube related key words.
