Detailed information about Chateau De Sable Case Study

Chateau De Sable Case Study

Château de sable is an exciting and chic collection of French designed children’s wear for newborn to 12 years. Citrus-Lime helped them develop their UK online store utilising our Dynamic Image Resizing technology.

Background to Château De Sable

The brainchild behind Château de sable is the French designer Stephanie Lemaire whose inspiration comes from the ‘innocence and vitality of children at play’ with a belief that children should look like children.

The styling of Château de sable is a unique blend of traditional and contemporary. All fabrics selected are of the highest quality and comfort, which can range from ‘Liberty’ cotton, ‘bamboo’ jersey, ‘cotton’ rib and super soft angora.

The fine attention to detail is also demonstrated by the exquisite finish of each piece from the soft linings to the thoughtful detailed trimmings.

The first UK boutique was opened in Chester in December 2009 and in February 2010 saw the launch of an online limited collection for UK customers - designed and implemented by Citrus-Lime.

Château De Sable and Citrus-Lime's Dynamic Image Resizer

Adding products to your online store can be a time consuming business - but it is well worth taking time over. Having excellent product descriptions not only helps your customers in making their purchasing decisions but also helps you in terms of placement in organic search engine results. Also having great product images is really important in increasing your sales - the more information you can give your customer the better - and we have seen evidence from our clients that the sites with the best images sell more stock.

Often your suppliers or distributors will be able to provide you with nice high-res images of your products, however this usually still leaves you with the task of editing and resizing them using separate software (e.g. Photoshop) before uploading them to your website.

Benefits of the Dynamic Image Resizer

The Dynamic Image Resizer allows retailers using our Citrus-Store ecommerce platform to simply 'dump' their images onto our server - and we do the rest. We process the images, scale them and produce 'web-size' images of the correct dimensions. This removes all of the hassle involved in editing images yourself and we hope will encourage more of our retailers to add multiple images per product - it really can have a noticeable impact on your sales.

Key Numbers from the Château De Sable Project

  • 15 - Project Launched inside 15 days.
  • 139 - Active products each containing 1 x Small Image,1 x Large Image and an average of 2 MIV Images per item (556 images)
  • 75% - Reduced time to market - Client has no Photoshop skills in-house so the Dynamic Image Resizer has enabled professional finish imagery to be achieved without any skill development.
